Hylaeus, a species of small, slender bees known as yellow-faced bees or masked bees, is mostly black with white or yellow markings on their faces and legs. These bees have very little hair and lack pollen-collecting hairs (scopa), resembling wasps more than bees. One of these bees is drinking honey from a small, beautiful pink rose flower in Tehatta, West Bengal, India, on May 19, 2025, the day before World Bee Day.
