Aedes mosquitoes are active during the daytime, display aggressive biting behaviour towards humans, and prefer to live in close proximity to people and animals. They require blood to produce eggs, and after feeding, female mosquitoes seek out water sources to lay their eggs. Aedes mosquitoes are known vectors for several viruses, including the yellow fever virus, dengue virus, West Nile virus, chikungunya virus, and Zika virus.
