Hindu married women devotees are attending the Bengali Hindu folk tradition festival 'Jamai Shashthi', which originated centuries ago as part of a woman's socio-religious duty according to Bengali mythology. On this day, the old Peepal tree (Ficus Religiosa) is being worshipped as the Hindu folk goddess ''Shashthi'' (Deity of vegetation and reproduction) in Tehatta, West Bengal, India, on July 01, 2025. Religious practices are helping preserve numerous sacred groves across India, ensuring these areas remain biodiverse habitats that support a variety of endangered species.
