Poland: Prime Minister about election protests

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk is announcing after meeting with the outgoing and incoming president at the National Security Council meeting, in Warsaw, Poland, on June 18, 2025, that he is "very clearly" raising the issue of the credibility of the presidential elections. He is saying that the number of election protests "probably exceeded the imagination of all of us." "At the end of the day, we can expect about 30,000 protests that will go to the Supreme Court." SOUNDBITE (Polish) Donald Tusk, Polish Prime Minister: "No one should question the results of the presidential elections in Poland. It cannot be that anyone, because they have suspicions, considers these elections invalid or that they must be repeated. This is certainly not the role of the prime minister or the government in any way. And that is one issue. There is another equally important issue, which is that citizens have the right to be certain that their votes were counted correctly. That there was no manipulation, abuse, forgery, or large-scale errors."
