Green Chilli Pepper - Agriculture In India

Green chillies, also known as hari mirch in India, are immature chili peppers that play a vital role in Indian cooking. They are recognised for their unique flavour and intense heat. Green chilli peppers grow best in warm, humid conditions, ideally between 22°C and 25°C. They need 5 to 6 hours of sunlight each day and thrive in well-draining, nutrient-rich soil. Additionally, proper watering, fertilisation, and pest control are essential for successful cultivation. Green Chilli Pepper plants were observed bearing fruits in Tehatta, West Bengal, India, on 27/04/2025.
