Rath Yatra 2025 - Hindu Festival

Devotees are lining up in front of the chariot and performing dances to pay homage to Lord Krishna Rai in the 150-year-old festival Tehatta Krishna Rai Ratha Yatra. Occasionally, the electric wires are getting stuck on the chariot on the road, and then the head priest is spreading them. Children are also coming to watch the chariot and often bringing their toy chariots to enjoy the festive atmosphere. Many food stalls are being set up at the festival fair. It is getting dark on the chariot's way back during the evening. The lack of light is making it dangerous for huge crowds due to the fear of a stampede and also for the priests on top of the chariot because of the electric wires. Still, the general visitors who are arriving are pushing it into the temple with the help of hands and ropes safely in Tehatta, West Bengal, India, on June 27, 2025.
