A bee is accidentally falling into the water and is somehow swimming to the edge of the container using its wings to create small ripples and "surf" towards safety in Tehatta, West Bengal, India, on April 6, 2025. It can also drown if it cannot get out of the water quickly. Bees are breathing through spiracles on their abdomen, and while they can close these openings to prevent water from entering, they can still suffocate after a while.
