A baby Indian Bronzeback Tree Snake (Dendrelaphis Tristis) is coiled around an electric earthing wire, sunbathing on a cool, rainy day. This slender snake is nearly indistinguishable from the wire, and it was spotted in an urban area the day before World Snake Day in Tehatta, West Bengal, India, on July 15, 2025. Indian Bronzeback Tree Snakes are found throughout India and Southeast Asia. They are beneficial to the environment as they help control populations of lizards, frogs, and small birds.
