A Round-headed Katydid Nymph is the juvenile stage of a katydid. This wingless nymph resembles a miniature adult, with a body shape that often mimics a leaf. Round-headed katydids belong to the subfamily Phaneropterinae, which is also known as false katydids or leaf katydids or sickle-bearing bush crickets. These insects are characterized by their rounded heads, long antennae and sword- or sickle-shaped ovipositorand are typically found in gardens and woodlands, where they feed on foliage and sometimes flowers, play a role in pollination, and they can be indicators of ecosystem health. A specimen was observed in a forest at Tehatta, West Bengal, India, on June 30, 2025.
