Coridius - Edible stink bug - Shield bug - True bug

Coridius is a genus of dinidorid bugs, also known as stink bugs or shield bugs (order Hemiptera), that primarily feed on sap from Cucurbitaceae plants. Most species are native to Africa and Asia, with some extending into Europe as pests. Certain species, like Coridius chinensis, are consumed in regions such as southwest China and Northeast India. Here, a Coridius is sitting on a leaf, and while flying away, it is getting caught in a spider's web and is spinning around in Tehatta, West Bengal, India, on May 22, 2025.
