Local residents are gathering to watch the swollen Charsadda River flow under a bridge following heavy monsoon rainfalls on the outskirts of Peshawar, Pakistan, on August 15, 2025. The death toll from heavy monsoon rains that are triggering landslides and flash floods across northern Pakistan is rising to at least 164 people, according to the disaster authority. Most of the deaths, 150, are being recorded in the mountainous Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in northwestern Pakistan, including 78 people who are dying in the flood-hit Buner district, the National Disaster Management Authority is saying on Friday.
