Acid lime, also known as Kagzi lime or Pati lime (Citrus aurantifolia), is being mostly cultivated in India, particularly in states such as West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Bihar. This crop is thriving in tropical and subtropical climates, requiring rainfall of 750 mm or more and also necessitating irrigation. Acid lime is being commercially significant for various purposes, including fresh consumption, pickling, chutneys, lime juice, and its use in beverages and food products. It is also being a good source of vitamin C and antioxidants, and it may be aiding digestion, boosting immunity, and potentially contributing to weight management. Among the local varieties, PKM1, Vikram, and Rasraj are being the most popular. The fruit is typically being harvested when it transitions from green to a light yellow color. Yields are varying but generally ranging from 80 to 150 quintals per hectare. The evergreen leaves are a pale green color, and they are producing small white flowers.
