Floods in Jammu and Kashmir

People move to safe places after the Jhelum river swells into a neighbourhood in Raj Bagh area of Srinagar, Indian Administered Kashmir on 27 August 2025. At least 32 people lost their lives after a landslide struck the route on the hilltop of Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district. The continuous rainfall shooting stones and landslides have forced the suspension of traffic on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway. Mobile internet, broadband network and calling services remained suspended in Jammu and Kashmir due to damage to optical fibers.
