Palestinians are mourning by the shrouded bodies of relatives killed in Israeli strikes in Gaza City, on September 1, 2025, at Al-Shifa hospital. Gaza's civil defence agency is saying Israeli strikes and gunfire across the territory on August 31 are killing at least 63 people, 24 of whom are near aid distribution sites, while the UN is estimating that nearly a million people are currently living in Gaza City and its surroundings, where famine has been declared.
