A spider wasp (Pompilidae) is currently hunting or subduing a green huntsman spider and cutting off its legs. These wasps are known for their unique predatory behavior, primarily targeting spiders to provide as food for their larvae. Female spider wasps are actively hunting spiders, often paralyzing them with their sting before transporting them to a burrow or nest. Once there, they are laying an egg on the spider, ensuring that the developing wasp larva has a source of food. This video is taken in Tehatta, West Bengal, India, on September 4, 2025
