On October 5th, 2025 the Special Olympics Unified Volleyball World Cup kicked off in Katowice, Poland. The tournament is a world first and will see 16 teams in unique combinations; each team consists of 12 players made up of 6 members with intellectual disabilities and 6 without. There are also teams in which both men and women will play. The tournament hopes to send a message throughout the world of the celebration of skill and inclusion.
