Artisans spray color on earthen lamps ahead of Diwali

Earthen pot artisans are spraying color on earthen lamps ahead of Diwali inside a workshop in Duttapukur, West Bengal, India, on October 9, 2025. The villagers of Duttapukur are earning their livelihood by making earthen pots, idols, and lamps throughout the year. Approximately 1000 families are earning their livelihood by making earthen pots and materials. Before Diwali and the festive season in India, the demand for earthen lamps and idols is increasing. They are even selling these lamps throughout India and abroad.
