Italy’s annual inflation rate was 1.6% in September, according to the second estimate published by Istat on Thursday. The consumer price index (CPI) rose by 0.2% on a monthly basis, unchanged from the preliminary report. Core inflation, which excludes energy and fresh food, was revised down to 2% from the earlier estimate of 2.1%.
