Voters are waiting in a queue to cast their votes at a polling station. A paratrooper is standing alert outside a polling booth during the by-election. Voting is beginning on Tuesday in Budgam and Nagrota, central Kashmir, on November 11, for the by-elections. The by-election is necessitated after Abdullah, who contested and won from two constituencies in the 2024 J&K assembly elections, chooses to retain his party’s traditional Ganderbal seat while vacating Budgam. Both constituencies are in central Kashmir.
