Pope Leo XIV begins his first six-day foreign trip, traveling to Turkiye, where he is expected to meet privately with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and commemorate the 1700th anniversary of the First Ecumenical Council held in Nicea, modern-day Iznik. He then continues on to Lebanon, where he is scheduled to meet local authorities, leaders and representatives from various religious faiths, and groups of young people.
