The traditional Christmas nativity scene is being displayed inside the Bernardine Fathers’ basilica in Rzeszow, Poland, on December 25, 2025, as part of a local custom that has been maintained for nearly 400 years. The festive installation, set amid seasonal decorations, is drawing visitors and worshippers as part of the city’s holiday observances, coinciding this year with the wider 800th anniversary of the first nativity scene tradition begun by Saint Francis of Assisi in the 13th century.
