The Common Crow butterfly (Euploea core) larva is a striking, colorful caterpillar, displaying an orange-brown body with distinctive black and white stripes, featuring white spots or bands on its sides, dark undersides, and prominent fleshy tentacles (filaments) on its body segments. It is feeding on toxic host plants like Ficus or Oleander, storing toxins for defense. This larva is being a pest of plants in the Apocynaceae, Moraceae, Ulmaceae, and Fabaceae families, mainly feeding on leaves and buds, leading to defoliation, in Tehatta, West Bengal, India, on November 12, 2025.
