The Wolf Moon, the first full moon of the year and also a Supermoon, is appearing larger and brighter as it is closer to Earth. This name is coming from folklore about wolves howling in the cold winter nights. It is also sometimes referred to as the Old Moon or Ice Moon, and it is rising through vegetation in Tehatta, West Bengal, India, on January 3, 2026.
