Nepalese applicants take part in a physical fitness test during the selection of temporary police officers ahead of the March 5 general elections in Kathmandu, Nepal on January 19, 2026. Nepal’s government plans to recruit 140,000 civilians aged 18 to 54 as temporary police for the election. Successful candidates will undergo two weeks of training as Myadi police, including physical fitness, basic security instruction, public interaction skills and election code training.
