Ukrainians in Poland mark 4th anniversary of Russian invasion

Hundreds of people gathered at the Royal Castle Square in Warsaw, Poland on 24 February, 2026 to markt the 4th anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Hundreds of people, mostly Ukrainian citizens gathered in Warsaw where sthe mayor of Warsaw, Rafal Trzaskowski and several European ambassadors spoke in support of the Ukrainian effort to defend themselves against continuing Russian aggression and reiterate Europe's long term backing. Since the start of the conflict in 2022 close to 7 million Ukrainians have been displaced leading to the largest refugee crisis in Europe since World War II. ATTENTION: 1 second of blank clip between quotes QUOTE 1 (Miquel Berger, German ambassador to Poland): We know how hard it has been the last four years, the suffering, the losses, the terror against the civilian population, the cold, the attacks against the energy infrastructure. But let me say we are all here to show we stand with Ukraine and we will continue to support Ukraine as long as it's needed. QUOTE 2: (Jennifer Tyldesley, Deputy Head of Mission for the UK to Poland): This war must be brought to a just and lasting peace, a peace which fully upholds Ukraine's sovereignty and security, a peace that prevents Russia from re-arming and attacking again, and a peace that allows Ukraine and Ukrainians to fulfil their huge potential as part of the Euro-Atlantic community.
