“…reports by credible independent journalists that point to Russian operatives being present in Hungary or being engaged in the Hungarian government's Fidesz party campaign to amplify certain messages, key themes or to direct messaging in one direction or another. This is something that Hungarians are not used to and Hungarian authorities so far have not really addressed. We have seen how, for example, when this issue of Russian GRU operatives being dedicated to forming Fidesz's campaign, when this issue was brought up at the National Election Commission, an authority that is meant to address election related issues and legal disputes, the problem of foreign interference was never even put on the agenda. The member of the National Election Commission who introduced it was not able to succeed in having this issue put on the agenda. It was not even discussed.”
