POBLA DE LILLET, SPAIN

The Artigas Gardens, Gaudi little-known Park Guell

In addition to the Chalet de Catllaras, Antoni Gaudi also designed gardens in La Pobla de Lillet: the Artigas Gardens. This is another of the Catalan architect lesser-known works, built between 1905 and 1906. It's a small Park Güell that blends seamlessly into nature and features many of Gaudi signature symbols, such as plant motifs, grottoes, stone sculptures, and the symbols of the four Evangelists, which also appear in the Sagrada Familia. These gardens remained largely unknown until 1971, when Gaudi authorship was officially confirmed. Now, coinciding with the Gaudi Year celebrations, these gardens are a major tourist attraction in this small Catalan town, in Pobla de Lillet, Spain, on April 27, 2026.
