Heavy rainfall between April 26 and May 2 has submerged 46,730 hectares—or 10.27 percent of the total haor land—highlighting the severity of the situation. The entire area was flooded within 30 minutes due to heavy rain and sudden landslides. It has been raining for the last two days.
