Sjoerd Sjoerdsma, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Netherlands, speaks with María Amparo López Senovilla, State Secretary for Trade of Spain. EU Ministers of Trade are scheduled to meet on May 22, 2026, in Brussels. The ministers will exchange views on economic security in light of the impact of the Middle East conflict on trade. They will also follow up on the 14th WTO ministerial conference (MC14) and discuss WTO reform. Additionally, ministers will review the state of play of ongoing trade negotiations, including those with Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, and the United Arab Emirates.
