Fires and thick smoke cover Kyiv, Ukraine, after one of the largest combined Russian missile and drone attacks on the Ukrainian capital overnight on May 24, 2026. According to Ukraine’s air defense forces, 604 aerial targets are intercepted, including 55 missiles and 549 drones. Kyiv is the main target of the attack. At least two people are killed and 56 injured, including two children.
