General view of everyday life in Moria. Handmade tents on the hills of the slums or "jungle" as asylum seekers called it, next too the official Reception and Identification Center. Moria makeshift camp where people are living in the mud without basic facilities, a hygiene threat where refugees are afraid of diseases or coronavirus. The hills of the olive grove, outside of the official facilities, the hotspot, first reception and registration center in Lesvos island in Greece have no access to water, electricity, heat, doctors etc. There is an estimation of 24.000 asylum seekers living in the settlement with the larger majority being from Afghanistan and more than 20% to be minors, sometimes the children are unaccompanied. Refugees and migrants arrive every day from Turkey in dinghies increasing the number of people needing shelter but they can't leave the island, while Greece prepares Closed Detention Centers. Locals in the island protest against the new camps. Moria refugee camp is the largest in Europe during the humanitarian refugee crisis, it works as a hotspot for Europe, where asylum seekers register.
