Students from the Universitas Indonesia (UI) campus hold a long march demonstration from the Jalan Sudirman area toward Jalan M.H. Thamrin, Jakarta, on December 6, 2026. The crowd, consisting of members from the Student Executive Board of Universitas Indonesia (BEM UI) and the Student Executive Board of the Student Family of IPB University (BEM KM IPB), highlights the economic slowdown, rising prices of basic commodities and fuel, as well as the forced implementation of the free nutritious meal program, which they argue is draining the State Budget. The students also put a spotlight on the utilization of the State Budget. In their call to action, the UI Extended Family criticizes fiscal policies deemed to be "leaking" and condemns the undermining of Bank Indonesia's independence.
