June Full Moon - Full Strawberry Moon

The Strawberry Moon, sometimes referred to as the Hot Moon or Planting Moon, shines through gaps in tree branches as a colorful lunar corona appears amid cloudy skies in a forest at Tehatta, West Bengal, India, on June 30, 2026. June's full moon is called the Strawberry Moon, named for the wild strawberries that are ready for harvest. This year's Strawberry Moon is the first full moon after the June 21 summer solstice, appearing lower in the sky than any full moon in 2026. According to NASA, the name "Full Strawberry Moon" comes from the Algonquin tribes in the northeastern United States, who used it to mark the beginning of the strawberry harvest season. It also holds religious significance, symbolizing reflection and renewal.
