The Sukhnag River flows through Beerwah during heavy rainfall. Heavy rains and cloudbursts triggered flash floods and landslides at several places across Jammu and Kashmir, causing widespread damage to homes, roads and other infrastructure. Water levels in rivers, streams and other water bodies have risen following incessant rainfall, raising concerns about further flooding. At least one person was killed in Kashmir, while 28 people were reportedly killed in separate rain-related incidents across the Jammu region.
