According to news reports, the demolitions came amid an intensified security crackdown across Kashmir, with around 2,000 suspects, including alleged over-ground workers (OGWs) and militant associates, detained for questioning. Security forces also stepped up search operations and surveillance across the Kashmir Valley following the attack.
