More than 500 wildfires have been recorded in Catalonia so far this summer. One of the latest occurred in the Collserola mountain range, very close to the telecommunications tower that rises above the city of Barcelona. The fire burned 10 hectares and came very close to populated areas, forcing residents of the upper neighborhoods of Barcelona to be confined to their homes. Firefighters worked with 10 fire trucks and 4 helicopters, managing to bring the fire under control after 4 hours of work in Barcelona, Spain, on August 14, 2026.
