August's full moon is known as the Sturgeon Moon, but it is also called the Green Corn Moon, Grain Moon, Flying Up Moon, and Red Moon. As the moon rises above the southeastern horizon at sunset, it creates a spectacular light show with its lunar corona. The moon is visible through overgrown grass and flowers on people's rooftops, as well as through electric wires, Guava, Palmyra palm, or neem trees, against the cloudy sky in Tehatta, West Bengal, India, on August 27, 2026.
