After the new Prime Ministerial Decree issued by Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte on March 9, 2020, all commercial activities must close after 18.00 with the exception of food shops. The squares of Italian cities have emptied; bars, restaurants, cafés and covered markets are now deserted like Piazza delle Erbe in Padua with its historic fountain and Palazzo della Ragione in the background.
