Kazi Nazrul Islam, Bangladesh's national poet, a legendary Bengali rebel poet, short story writer, journalist, lyricist, musician, and revolutionary activist, lived at Grace Cottage in Bowbazar, Krishnanagar, from 1926 to 1928 during the British period. The government office building and heritage site in West Bengal's Nadia district is where his first child, Bulbul, was born and his mother, Zahida, passed away. Nazrul wrote several famous works, including poems like Daridro and Samyabadi, as well as the novel Mrityu Khudha.
