In India's expansive wholesale markets (mandis), warehouses, and agricultural sectors, heavy-duty needles and thick plastic thread are commonly used tools for sealing bulk transport sacks. Products such as rice, grains, flour, cement, and fertilizers are packed in large woven plastic bags made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or polypropylene (PP). Since heat-sealing thick woven plastic can be inefficient or may damage the contents, workers either manually or mechanically stitch the tops of these bags. This heavy needle-and-thread stitching provides structural integrity, prevents spillage during rough transport, and serves as a tamper-evident seal for bulk goods distributed throughout the country.
