Citizens protest in Izmir, Turkey, after Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cemil Tugay officially joined the AK Party. Tugay had previously resigned from the CHP (Republican People's Party) and was continuing his duties as an independent. With this transition, after 22 years, the Izmir municipality has passed to another party.
