The couple have taken their son without permission from child protection services in The Netherlands during a visit. Their son Martin had been in custody of child protection services after claims he showed abnormal behaviour suspected to be the result of abuse. The parents claim the child's abnormal behaviour is the result of autism. The family is now seeking asylum in Poland hoping pro-family values in the country will offer the opportunity to live together.
