The historic George Munshaw house

The historic George Munshaw house built in c.1850 is seen lifted on wooden pallets in preparation for it to be trucked to a different location and restored in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada, on August 22, 2020. The George Munshaw house is representative of the transitional period from early post and beam construction to balloon frame construction. The architecture of the house is unique as it has no posts supporting its frame, but instead has vertical plank sheathing as the frame support. The Munshaw family, originally Munschauer, was one of the first families to settle in present day Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada. The George Munshaw House was designated as a heritage property in 1987.
