The Bobcat Fire grew to 33, 312 acres with 6% containment, on September 13, 2020. Crews conducted strategic firing operations in the south as the fire remained very active reaching Chantry Flat in Santa Anita Canyon. There has been significant western growth towards Mt. Wilson and Mt. Harvard where hand crews and dozers are working to protect the area. Fire activity is expected to grow north where crews continue to conduct firing operations. Numerous spot fires near Buckhorn Flat and Highway 2 were successfully contained. On the west, the fire is staying within containment lines near Highway 39. The Station, Ranch2 and Fish fire scars are helping moderate fire activity due to low fuel loads.
