The Bobcat Fire is now at 41,231 acres with 3% containment. Firefighters worked diligently last night into this morning with a focus on protecting Mt. Wilson and the foothills communities. An increase in resources is allowing us to expand our efforts to reduce the fire’s growth. Today’s primary focus remains at keeping the fire from reaching Mt. Wilson and the foothill communities. The strategic burn operation will continue as weather conditions permit. A secondary priority will be to keep the Fire south of Highway 2. Aircraft will be utilized to actively support ground resources as visibility allows. The Closure Order for National Forests in Southern California has been extended to September 21.
