Protesters gathered at Foley Square in New York City on September 16, 2020, to speak against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), following whistle-blower allegations of 'medical neglect' and forced hysterectomies of detainees. Demonstrators started by celebrating Mexican Independence Day with a mariachi performance. They continued on to confront ICE officials at Federal Plaza and then march through lower Manhattan, disrupting 'life as usual.'
