Hindu devotees perform a special prayer ritual with Vedic mantras chanted by Hindu priest inside a pandal during the celebration of Durga Puja festival in Kolkata on October 24, 2020. Durgapuja is the five days long festival is widely celebrated throughout West Bengal, especially in Kolkata. According to the mythology the Durga the goddess of power comes at her maternal home once in a year with her four children and slay ‘Mahishasur’ the demon of negativity. The city is celebrating the festival amidst pandemic COVID-19 maintaining safety precautions. Kolkata High Court has declared ‘No Entry’ inside the pandals for the outside visitors to avoid crowd as a preventive measure of the pandemic situation. The present COVID-19 cases in India are below 7 lakh for first time after two months.
