People wait in snow for donuts on Fat Thursday

On February 1, 2021 people in Poland flocked to bakeries to get their hands on the best jam filled donuts or "paczki". Fat Thursday is celebrated every year in Poland every year roughly two months before Easter. Traditionally it is the last Thursday before fasting and people celebrate by eating sweets. In Poland it is very popular to eat pastries called “paczki” which are doughnuts filled with jam or cream and topped with powdered sugar. The tradition is so popular people wait hours outside of bakeries to get the best paczki in their town or city.
