The Polish health ministry imposed a lockdown in two counties following a surge in new cases of coronavirus infections. Poland has seen its cases rise sharply and briefly hit the top 5 worldwide in absolute number of deaths. In the Masovian voivodship where the capital Warsaw is located hotels, shopping malls, cinemas and cultural institutions will be closed for two weeks starting March 15.
