At least 400 people gathered today, Saturday, March 23, 2021, in Paris' central Beaubourg district to protest against the government and what they call the repression of individual freedoms during the pandemic. The demonstrators criticize in particular the obligation to wear a mask, the government's strategy against the crisis and the repression of the founding principles of the French Republic, starting precisely with the concept of freedom. Several moments of tension between the demonstrators and the forces of order that have been repelled by the crowd shouting "freedom". The agents, at least fifty, many of them in charge of enforcing the obligation to wear a mask, have moved back trying to avoid the clash.
